Work Experience

We were recently approached by Nottingham College to see if we would take on any positions for work experience. We had never done this before as we are a small team, but we welcomed the opportunity. They chose a student for us to assist with editing and they did not disappoint! We had a meeting with the student and he was amazing. Someone who is very driven, creative, passionate and eager to learn! He will go far for sure! He recently told us he got accepted for a video creator apprenticeship… and we aren’t surprised!

During our short time together he assisted in editing our new showreel which you can see on the main page. You can see for yourself the fab job he’s done for us!

1.What’s been your favourite part of college?

My favourite part of college has been to collaborate with lots of my friends on projects to make short films and videos as part of my course.

2. What do you most enjoy in film and video?

Post production roles are my favourite: sound design, video editing and motion graphics. I love the unlimited creative freedom that it can bring to a video.

3.What did for your FMP in College? And how did you do?

For my final piece of work in college I directed and edited a documentary based on mass tourisms impact on Tenerife called ‘Paradise Lost’. It follows me as I interview tourists, locals and other residents of the island to explore their outlooks on the subject. It can be found on my website's portfolio page.

4. Now you’re finishing college, what do you wish to do?

I want to carry on producing content and working on different creative projects. I am currently looking to freelance my video editing/ videography services while I look for video production apprenticeships.

5.How has your experience been working with Spore Media?

I have loved every minute of working with Spore Media. Todd was friendly and someone I feel like I could always ask a question of and he would be happy to help me. I feel super grateful to of had this opportunity.

6. Have you learnt anything new since your work experience with Spore Media?

Since I have never worked with footage that was such large file size due to the quality of Spore Medias footage, I have had to learn about creating proxie files for the video clips.

7. What would be your dream project to work on and why?

My dream project at the moment would be to work on a music video for a professional artist or to work on a promotional video for a brand.

8. What is your favourite movie and why?

My favourite film at the moment is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. The way it is structured was so clever that as soon as I had watched it I, instantly started it from the beginning again.
